What are the steps for extracting 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid from the leaves of syringa syringa?

There are several ways to extract 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid, let’s find out how to get 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid from the leaves of the plant lilac.

This extraction method is mainly divided into two parts, one is the pretreatment of raw materials, the other is extraction.

Let’s talk about the initial treatment, we need to dry the original medicine of lilac, and then select, remove the seeds and other debris, after grinding to get a fine powder.

As for the extraction part, we took 2 grams of lilac leaf powder with 70 mesh sieve as raw material, extracted with anhydrous ethanol as the extraction agent under the set technological conditions, filtered the extracted liquid, removed the residue, and recovered ethanol, so as to obtain crude protocatechuic acid. Add 50mL ethanol and 3ml0.1mol/L hydrochloric acid to the crude product, gently shake them to dissolve together, and then transfer them to the separating funnel. Use 0.1mol/L sodium hydroxide solution for 3 such extraction, extract 50mL each time and use 10ml ether to wash the extracted sodium hydroxide solution. After combining with dihydroxybenzoic acid solution, adjust the PH value to 6, evaporation and drying, can get white like powder crystal, namely 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid.
