What do nicotinamide and fruit acid have in common?

Nicotinamide is an amide compound of nicotinic acid, but it is milder than nicotinic acid, will not reduce cholesterol like nicotinic acid, and cause facial fever and flushing, nicotinamide is mainly used in skin care products, to improve skin color, moisture, gloss, elasticity and so on have great help.

Nicotinamide exfoliates the skin in the same way that fruit acid does, by blocking the transfer of melanocytes to keratinocytes, speeding up the metabolism of keratinocytes, brightening the skin color, and making it look more energetic.

Nicotinamide can increase intracellular NADPH levels, accelerate keratin differentiation, quickly rebuild healthy skin barrier, enhance the activity of rate-limiting enzymes, and promote the synthesis of ceramide and free fatty acids in the skin.

Although nicotinamide can repair the skin barrier, it is not suitable for sensitive skin. The reason is that it is converted to niacin, which is very unfriendly to the skin and can cause a variety of adverse reactions including redness, fever, acne, and even allergies.

In addition to increasing the level of NADPH in skin cells, nicotinamide also prevents the degradation of collagen in the dermis, and also increases the rate and amount of collagen synthesis, thus making the skin elastic and reducing wrinkles.

Topical application of 2% nicotinamide reduces the production of fatty acids and triglycerides in sebum, which acts as oil control, thereby narrowing pores and relieving acne.
