There are many ways to extract 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid. Let’s look at how to extract 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid from the leaves of the plant clove.
This extraction method is mainly divided into two parts, one is the pretreatment of raw materials, the other is the extraction of 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid.
Let’s talk about preprocessing. We need to dry the original cloves, then select and remove the seeds and other debris, and pulverize to get a fine powder.
As for the extraction part, 2 grams of lilac leaf powder with 70 screens were used as raw material, and anhydrous ethanol was used as the extraction agent under the set technological conditions. The obtained extract was filtered to remove residue, and ethanol was recovered to obtain 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid. Measure 50mL ethanol and 3ml 0.1mol/L hydrochloric acid to the crude product, gently shake them to dissolve together, and then transfer to the separating funnel, with 0.1mol/L sodium hydroxide solution made of extraction 3 times, extraction 50mL each, extraction of sodium hydroxide solution with 10mL ether washing. After combining with dihydroxybenzoic acid solution, adjust the pH value to 6, evaporate to dry, and get 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid as a pale powder.
