There are transaminase method, amino acid oxidase method, dehydrogenase method, chemical enzyme method and other methods can be used to prepare L-2-aminobutyric acid. At present, transaminase method is mainly used to produce L-2-aminobutyric acid. In the past, L-2-aminobutyric acid was prepared with glutamic acid and ketoic acid as raw materials, and l-2-aminobutyric acid could be obtained under the action of amino acid transaminase. The yield of L-2-aminobutyric acid obtained by this method was low, and then threonine was used as raw material to produce L-2-aminobutyric acid with three enzymes system, which not only had low yield, but also had an effect on the product purification of by-products. The amino acid oxidase method needs to prepare L-2-aminobutyric acid with D-amino acid oxidase under the action of metal catalyst. This method has high cost and cannot achieve large-scale production, which is not suitable for industrial production.
